This provides funding for nurses employed by Duncan Regional Hospital to gain additional skills and continuing education on an as-needed basis.
The 2012 Recipient - Patty Wininger BS, RN, CEN - Emergency Preparedness Coordinator
"The Foundation scholarship enabled me to attend the national Joint Commission conference on emergency preparedness for hospitals. As such, I brought back new information and resources that will help DRH prepare our staff and facilities in times of disaster and emergencies. Of special interest was information on hospital evacuation. As a result, we have some new equipment and processes to facilitate our planning, response and actions. Thanks to the Foundation and its' supporters for providing me such an opportunity to learn and then share with the staff, volunteers and medical staff."
Past Recipient - Carmen Phillippi, BN RN-BC CWON
"The scholarship helped pay for the webWOC course and preceptorship which prepared me for national board certification in wound and ostomy nursing. This enables me to provide focused care and support to patients with these health concerns. I am able to share what I have learned with the nursing staff through bedside support, protocols, and team member training. I appreciate and thank the Foundation for its support for continuing education for nurses."
